Abstract: The qualitative theory of differential equations is applied to K * (3, 1) equation, u t = u x u ? 2a(uu xxx ? 2u x u xx). Our procedure shows that K * (3, 1) equation has the regular peakon soliton, cuspon soliton and smooth soliton solutions when sitting on non-zero constant pedestal lim x!AE1 u ¼ A 6 ¼ 0; or possesses compacton solutions only when lim x!AE1 u ¼ A ¼ 0: In particular, mathematical analysis and numerical graph are provided for those peakon, cuspon, compacton and smooth soliton solutions.

Solitons, Peakons, and Periodic Cuspons of a Generalized Degasperis-Procesi Equation
In this paper, we employ the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to investigate the exact travelling wave solutions of a generalized Degasperis-Procesi equation ut−uxxt+4uux+γ(u−uxx)x = 3uxuxx+uuxxx. The implicit expression of smooth soliton solutions is given. The explicit expressions of peaked soliton solutions and periodic cuspon solutions are also obtained. Further, we show the r...
متن کاملSolitons And Periodic Solutions To The Generalized Zakharov-Kuznetsov Benjamin-Bona-Mahoney Equation
This paper studies the generalized version of theZakharov-Kuznetsov Benjamin-Bona-Mahoney equation. The functionalvariable method as well as the simplest equation method areapplied to obtain solitons and singular periodic solutions to theequation. There are several constraint conditions that arenaturally revealed in order for these specialized type ofsolutions to exist. The results of this pape...
متن کاملStability of peakons for the Degasperis-Procesi equation
The Degasperis-Procesi equation can be derived as a member of a oneparameter family of asymptotic shallow water approximations to the Euler equations with the same asymptotic accuracy as that of the CamassaHolm equation. It is noted that the Degasperis-Procesi equation, unlike the Camassa-Holm equation, has not only peakon solitons but also shock peakons. In this paper, we study the orbital sta...

which relates (1) with thewell-knownmodifiedKdV equation and obtained three types of smooth solitons of (1). Moreover, the equivalence of (1) and the modified CBS equation is proved in [4]. Yang and Chen [5] obtained two potentials and two pseudopotentials of (1). Equation (1) is derived from the two-dimensional Euler equation and proven to have Lax pair and bi-Hamiltonian structures [6]. To st...

Investigation of ion acoustic solitons in three component plasma including positive and negative ions and Maxwellian electrons shows that negative to positive relative ion density plays a critical role so that by changing ν over the range of 0<ν<1 compressive or rarefactive solitons will propagate. In this paper, it is shown that due to the superthermal electrons, there are three domains for ...
